Unsere Aboreihe im Konzerthaus Berlin
Erleben Sie Barockmusik und Wiener Klassik in der Mitte Berlins mit einem Ensemble, das weltweit für seine aufregenden Interpretationen gefeiert wird.
The new season at the Konzerthaus opens with a spectacular masterpiece from Handel’s Italian years: Il Delirio amoroso. Handel chose as his subject the famous love madness of the shepherdess Clori, who once boldly descended into the underworld to win back her beloved Tirsi. As our soloist, we have secured one of the most sought-after new voices in early music, Jiayu Jin. She has already received multiple awards for her captivating interpretations of Baroque repertoire, including at the International Cesti Baroque Opera Competition in Innsbruck. Our collaboration with the young soprano also began at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music in 2025.
Overflowing musical vitality is guaranteed when the Akademie für Alte Musik turns to an iconic Baroque work: Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons continues to delight audiences with its extraordinarily vivid imagery. Whether shimmering summer heat or biting winter cold, the Venetian composer ingeniously transformed the changing seasons into unforgettable emotional concert experiences. What makes “our” Four Seasons special: in each of the four concerts, a different Akamus concertmaster will appear as soloist.
We also look forward with great anticipation to a new program with René Jacobs, who has been closely associated with the ensemble for many years in a formative way. Together with the outstanding mezzo-soprano Sophie Rennert, we will present arias and instrumental music from stage works by Mozart, as well as Haydn’s gripping Scena di Berenice. We will also perform one of Haydn’s most famous symphonies, nicknamed “The Clock” for the humorous ticking motif in its second movement.
Another highlight is our joint choral project with the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin, which once again will be part of the new season. As the final subscription concert, we will present Handel’s highly expressive oratorio Belshazzar, a work that blurs the boundaries between oratorio and opera.
In the Small Hall, to mark the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven’s death, we invite you to a tribute to the great composer with a sextet evening featuring works by the jubilarian as well as by Mozart and Anton Reicha.
We would be delighted to welcome you as a subscriber in the coming season!
